My only reservations with jumping in to Drupal for longterm development are the three features in the subject line indicated as missing or "limited" for Drupal on www.cmsmatrix.org
What is the most complex server configuration (clustering, loadbalancing, etc.) that is known for a Drupal site with high traffic? Another more precise question is, how much can Drupal handle (users, traffic)
I recently started a book club built with phpbb. You can check it out at www.pinoybookclub.com. Then, I wanted to expand it from a phpbb discussion board to a community portal. I've already outlined the features in the join (or registration page). Also, I've already coded the classifieds ads module.
I am going to attempt to install Drupal on an Apache 1.3 hosting package but I really do not have server access via the command line. Therefore the installation instructions are difficult to apply to a windows based or straight FTP access install. Does anyone have any insight as to if I am going to have many issues with my install attempt?
I want to know if there's any modules that look like the download and bookmark modules in mambo.
In Mambo, I can categorize and sub-categorize the download and the bookmarks.
Users can submit downloads and bookmarks or not. But the administrator has to validate them.
The downloads and bookmarks are visible for all and classed by category and subcategory.
If it's possible to restrict a category of download for a group, it's better.
Sorry to bother everyone again.
Have been looking at Drupal and getting more impressed, along with more confused as I try to relate it to others like Tikiwiki.
Have just looked at http://www.electroniclife.org/
and liked the layout and the long list of modules used, but assuming these do not come in the basic package, wondering if there are people who can install these for a fee, probably along with the main Drupal site, as not too confident the Fantastico will be up-to-date.
