4.5 or 4.6?

My hosting service supports PHP5, but they say it "*ONLY WORKS WITH PHP-CGI*". I'm not exactly sure what that means and probably don't need to, but should that factor determine whether I install 4.5 or 4.6? I don't need multi-site support, which SEEMS to be the biggest change between the two versions but I'd prefer not to run into an upgrade issue soon after installation if I'd be better off with 4.6.

Drupal setup

A question to the Drupal Developer Team.

Why you don't use the install script of civicspacelabs for Drupal?
Is the script not under the GPL? Or are there other reasons?

Drupal in Windows....is this the right thing to do?

I a linux guy trying to run drupal on Windows 2k Server. Not a choice I have control over. I'm having some serious performance issues and need some help. Are there benchmarks for drupal on various platforms? If so where would I find that information.

Anyone know if drupal can run on windows with decent performance?

Anything will help.

Cheers!

Using Flash on the Front Page?

Right after i sent my note a moment ago (Is Drupal My Nirvana?), I ran across this comment in one of the handboks: "You cannot redirect users to any web documents (e.g. a static HTML page) not created by your Drupal site." This could be a deal breaker for me. We have a front page design that uses Flash and JavaScript. Is it possible in Drupal to place those objects in nodes that can then be displayed on the front page or am I out of luck?

Is Drupal My Nirvana?

I have spent many hours this week looking for a CMS or other tool that would be the basis for a new major site project. I've read a lot about Drupal here and as far as I can tell, it will do everything I need to do. But I would like a reality check on two things: the feature set described below; and the issue of whether, given a full-time commitment of someone who is a medium-savvy programmer comfortable with PHP and MySQL, would it be reasonable to expect to have a site ready to launch in a week or so?

The main part of the new site will be dynamically created based on the user's choices at the front door of the site. Just to give us a relatively simple and specific idea what I'm talking about, assume a member comes to the site and indicates an interest in exploring the concept of oneness as it relates to cultural diversity. When she does that, the engine goes to work. It rummages through the database and locates everything that has in its keywords "oneness" and "cultural diversity". Once it has gathered these items, it publishes them through a CSS-based template file and displays an HTML page. The template may also include a list of products from our eStore that are relevant to this subject. If there are more than some arbitrary number of objects in the database that meet the search criteria, we'll limit the number of items per page and give the user tools to get the next and previous groups.

[QUESTION:] Projects link in right navigation?

I'm a realtive newbie to Drupal. I just installed it yesterday and have been playing around with it since. What I really want to know about is the link to 'projects' that is in the right side navigation here on the site. I noticed that I can create a new project etc. I have yet to find this in the install I did yesterday and was wondering if this is a module or is it built into Drupal? I'm very interested in this as this is probably the most important feature my users are going to need for the project I'm going to be doing.

Thanks for any help.
