I recently posted on the opensourcecms.com forums asking which CMS would be able to do what I want. A user there suggested Drupal or Typo3 as possible multi-site solutions but explained I might be better trying out Drupal because Typo3 has a rather steep learning curve.
I need something much like Drupal, but I need to be able to version control files that users put on my site. Can Drupal do that? I looked at the demo site and I could not find an example of the version control. Does that have to be turned on in some way?
To begin, I am an artist with not much experience with CMSes and not much web experience. I was wondering whether to install drupal in a subdirectory of my url...summaestudio.com, (as this way I could set up a test implementation parallel to it on the same remote server), without losing a lot of bots and ranking for not having much content, or a redirect, for my index.html in the root directory. Or is this not a good idea and instead should I bite the bullet, install in public_html/ and possibly set up the test locally using wamp and hope my old computer doesn't blow up?
I have been using Dragonfly CMS for about 1 1/2 years.
I am interested in trying Drupal. Though I have searched the forums I have not found an answer if Dragonfly can be converted, or if I can port over my members data.
I run a website that is a 'portal' for RSS feeds. What I do is pull in about 5-15 feeds from various blogs, mainly from blogger.com.
My goal is to have different 'views' for the feeds.
On the main page I want to display all the RSS feeds in certain categories. Bu,t I also want them to view them by recently updated, or 10 newly posted, etc.
Would Drupal give me the capability of doing that? I'm not a very savvy Drupal user, so my next question is how hard is it to set that up? Is it built in functionality?
Hi, like many I'm looking into Drupal to see if it's suitable to host a new project.
Have been asked to create a smaller eCommerce site, with a limited and finite amount of stock for each item. The pricing structure is meant to be similar to EasyJet or similar companies - i.e. the fewer items left, the higher the price.
I have looked through the forums, but only really come across the Auction module, which isn't really appropriate as the client will set a fixed price based on stock, rather than demand per se.
