Before you start

Hi,

I am newbie to drupal. We want a content management systems for our group. We view, upload, download both gif and vsd(visio) images. The view option is open to bigger group. Then the upload, download should be done by smaller group of members and management of images and some content should be done by few guys.

Is it possible with this drupal?

I am interested in visiting a site built with Drupal that has implemented the Swish-e indexer module. We are considering Drupal with the Swish-e Indexer for our intranet as we have a requirement to search documents such as PDF files, word docs, spreadsheets, PPT, etc. Could someone please post a few links to sites that have implemented Swish-e Indexer? Also, from what I have read, Swish-e doesn't search PPT. Is there something out there that does? General feedback on advanced document search mechanisms for Drupal CMS is appreciated.

since a long time I watch this site an I test some CMS for my conceptions.
But I´m not really happy. So I want to ask you, if Drupal is the right for my requests.

I ´m a webmaster of a private Travel Site (in Html) with a phpbb-forum with 350 Members and 15.000 contributions. I want to build up a portal with the complete content and the members

The first requirements of the:
- integrate my Forum Community (phpbb) as active members in the CMS
- integrate the Forum with all contributions and topics in the CMS - maybe as a CMS specific board or as a phpbb installation (really integrate not over a wrapper)
- all members are active members, so they can write News, Infos ...
- all member can write Infos in different categories to my travel site and other members can complement this with new infos
- Publishing by the admin or by special members
- integrate a Eventlist where non-members can submitEvents (sort like Name, town, area)
- integrate a gallery for the members (for example show picture on the Frontpage)
- integrate a chat-system
- integrate a flea market
- integrate a quiz
- integrate a adresslist for example with restaurants and bars with all Infos (members can submit)
- integrate advertising like google adsense
- integrate commercial webservices like Amazon after a bookreview
....

The next functions were:
- register events after pay
- register a adress with extra infos after pay

Firstly, bravo on the script - just getting to grips with the basics and I can already see the potential

Now then, i have just built a site www.organiclinker.com and im wondering if you think it is feasable to create this with Drupal. I feel with drupal i can make the site into more of a portal site.

Is there a robust directory module? - i have seen the case studies example but i couldnt tell. Does anyone have any examples of their own resource directories?

We want to create an ethnic internet portal similar to Yahoo or MSN but much less complex. We are open to any type of open source product and/or paid components-modules.

I am talking about following features:

I want to setup a weblinks module for links (URL) indexing in a category fashion.

As in http://www.nukeresources.com/modules.php?name=Web_Links

Is there any module that does this? OR Is there any tweaking in Drupal to achive this?
