Can Drupal do this?

Hi,

ive been looking around for a decent CMS to run my guild site.

Now what the site should be able to:

  • News system
  • Forum
  • Events & signing up for them

is this possible with drupal? or is drupal just overkill?

also do I need a good webserver to run drupal smooth? I heard it's kinda heavy usage

greetings

Using drupal for a reviews website - recommended?

Hello everyone,

I'm making a review website. Initially, I made PHP pages (nothing advanced, just so I could use includes) and used WordPress to manage the content. However, I am now thinking of moving over to drupal.

We need an interactive site - would you say that visitors will be able to interact a lot if we use Drupal?

Can a blogger of a multi-blogger site moderate their own comments, and have their own blogroll?

In a muli-blog site, can a blogger (user) moderate his on comments (i.e. get rid of his own spam)?

Also, can they have their own blogroll?

File upload with permissions

Hello,

We are considering using drupal, and we need a module that supports uploading files, and having permissions on them, so that not all users can download all files.

The files our users upload will generally only be read by the administrators, and we want to post files that only certain users can access.

I've looked through the File Managment modules, but I could not find something that suited us, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

Wondering if Drupal will work for me

I was wondering if a few of the Drupal vets out there will be able to tell me if Drupal will work for me based on my needs below. I have no experience with Drupal, and have searched around the site for so far only a day now. I *think* I have found answers to everything I need, but I'd really like to hear confirmation from others who have used it extensively. Here's what I would like included in my next site:

-I'd like users to be able to submit articles/news stories very simply.

-I would like users to have the option to submit pictures (at least one) with each story, and the picture would show as a thumbnail with the summary of the article, but it would be bigger on the actual news page.

-I need the ability to (eventually) create massive amounts of categories (about 100), subcategories (Approx 3,000), subsubs (up to 10,000), and subsubsubs (up to 10,000). This would of course be done over time, but there's no time like the present to plan for the future. It would be nice if there's a neat and organized way of displaying such categories like a drop down or seaparate page of links.

-Users should be able to rate/vote for articles.

-Users should be able to comment on articles.

-Would need forums with the ability to grow with all the categories as well.

Suggested Modules for Nonprofit Organization?

The Victorian Students' Aid Program (VSAP) is a student-run initiative focused on delivering aid alongside University of Melbourne medical students going on elective to disadvantaged areas around the world.

We are in the process of setting up a community-based website that will ideally have features permitting:

1) Project and Document Management
2) Inventory database
3) A thorough member and donor database
4) Events coordination

I am only mildly familiar with the CiviCRM and Workflow modules. My questions are:
