Me and about 20 other people want to have the user profile like the tutorial michelle did on shellmedia, But none of us get it right correctly, Is there anyone that is willing to follow the tutorial and then export the database and files so i can make it available for download to others as well? I know this is a weird request but i have tried everything. Please help.
I just recently found out about Drupal and I would like to ask you if Drupal would be the right choice for my type of website. I have tried searching for the answer on my own on the site and FAQ and whatnot but just couldn't figure it out because it seems to me that Drupal is different than other CMS's. I have used XOOPS for my previous site and from what I've seen XOOPS is very different from Drupal.
So, here is what I had in mind for my future website:
the ability to register as users
a forum where registered users can post, a forum with categories
the ability to create various blocks (the site would be 3-columned with content in the middle and other blocks on the left and right) such as "who's online", "recent forum posts", "main menu", "user menu"
an article system with categories
the site would be about reviewing certain games so I would need a special category where these reviews would go and a special link in the main menu (which would be visible to everyone) called 'game list' and when visited a page should open with the list of all articles (which are indeed reviews)
also, when creating reviews I would need to further categorise them (for example as fantasy, sci-fi, realistic, horror) and visitors should be able to search articles by categories, key words and similar
Well, I'd need an easy visual web editor, a good forum (possibly and integrated version of the latest SMF) and a shoutbox.
Can this CMS do these things with or without plugins ? And, excuse the brutality, why should I prefer this to e107 ? Because I have to chose...
