Help switching to Drupal

I would like to switch to Drupal for one of my old sites that used to run XOOPS. I just watched the video on ecademy.com, and I wanted to know if all of the features/modules they showed on that site are available for download here or on other sites. Their Marketplace (http://marketplace.ecademy.com/) is also powered by Drupal. Were many of the other functions custom written code? Anyone know? Also, does anyone know the 3 websites that are shown in the screenshot on the main page? I would like to browse through them.

Any place for another download module ?

filestore is deprecated, I don't like filestore2 as it's using fscache, And I don't know what it's doing ;-)
The upload module is somehow lacking, It can't display the number of downloads AFAIK.
I've spent the last few days working on a file upload/download module which'll allow you to place the files into categories, And you can navigate them just like the article.module. It's saving the files directly to a directory you specify.
"Maybe it's still buggy, I didn't test much".

How do I set auto email notification of replies or new content?

Sorry, I'm not a techie. maybe this is not a forum for end users. but if so, please advise:

At a drupal site I am now posting to, I was able to set up notification options. I could not find out how to do that here. please tell me where to find those settings.

thank you

Browsing Drupal through Taxonomy

I knew I should have bookmarked this but within the past month I saw a post which lead to a URL displaying a Drupal site Taxonomy. It was drop down box style and you could highlight more than one choice and then click, I believe, "Display" and it would show nodes that met your choices. I can't seem to find the link again. Wondering if anyone bookmarked it?

"What would you like to do next ?"

Hello,

One of the contributors to my Drupal site had a comment that inspired me to an idea for
a very nice enhancement ... This idea is also an alternative solution for what I was talking
about in http://drupal.org/node/12746

When creating or editing a node ( event, page, story, forum topic, image, etc. ),
I'd like to have radio buttons at the bottom, where you can choose "What would you like to do next ?"

Drupal is truly great!

Just wanted to say that with all the whining and frustration going on in the forum, I feel bad for the developers. So, I thought it's important to say how great Drupal really is! It's amazing how fast one can put together a fully functional site with it. It runs well in different environments and it's really fast. Everybody triple hurray for the developers! :D
