Cost of a customized Drupal CMS

This may be a little off topic, but I am asked to quote for a web design project that requires a CMS, customized for both functionality and look and feel. One of the quote requirements is to quote the design (graphical and visual presentation) and the CMS component work separately. I may or may not take on the CMS component myself, and if I need to work with someone who can work on the CMS component, what is the cost I am looking at?

rename subscriptions.module to emailalerts.module?

Hi Guys.

Just a thought..but, would it be an idea to rename the subscriptions.module to emailalerts.module?

there' s no big deal and not as urgent as other stuff, but, I'm trying to work with the ecommerce subscriptions and the search kicks back up a lot of discussions about email alerts, rather than subscriptions - i.e. users subscribing (for free or by payment) to a drupal driven site.

Comment This Post... Link in RSS

Well my dilema is that I would like for Drupal to add a link to comment at the bottom on the nodes when it is syndicated. My current use is that I am using an IFRAME on my Xanga (yes, I know they suck) for people to view my rss feed, that way it will increase the traffic on my drupal. Thus letting my friends view my website by clicking on one of the posts through the xanga. Now people are trying to comment but, they don't see the links. Hopefully, and I thank ya'll, if you can help.

Would a list like this be of any use to developers?

There's been plenty of threads that go like this:

Drupal user: "I want Forum X to integrate with Drupal!"

Drupal dev: "No, we'd rather just improve our own forums."

I side with those who would rather see a stronger native forums module for Drupal. But at the same time, I kinda agree with those who say Drupal's forum isn't moving forward much. (Glancing at the current 4.7 list, I don't see anything forum-related. Forgive me if there's anything I just haven't heard about.)

I'm considering converting my own forum (currently running phpBB) over to Drupal. To get a better idea of what it would be like if I converted, I started putting together a list of what Drupal's forum module can and can't do, including with contributed modules. As I've been putting it together, I've been wondering if the list could help Drupal's developers by calling attention to areas that are currently lacking.

This is a pretty big list. I'm writing it not just as a list of things that *I* want, but as a list of things that are common to most forum packages, things that other people might want/expect. Some of them are features, some bugs, some are as simple as changing a feature's name/description to make it more clear. At the current stage, I'm trying to verify that each item on the list is in fact something that can't currently be done with Drupal, either with the core distro or with extra modules. To that end I've been sifting through drupal.org, looking for issues, feature requests, general forum posts, etc. that relate to items on the list, and marking down the URLs for each that I find.

Problem using database.inc

Hello,

I´m having a problem using database.inc in one of my php scripts. After putting the include it gives me the Unsupported database type error.

include_once 'includes/database.inc';

Anyone knows what can be the problem? Ty.

How do I migrate from Postgresql to Mysql

I have two sites running early versions of Drupal 4.5.x. It's time to upgrade these to 4.6.x. These two sites are using PostgreSQL and both see the occasional problem as a result. Seeing as there is much more support for MySQL with Drupal, we want to move these sites to MySQL. The database change is a separate issue than the Drupal version change, though related. We want to get the database changed first, then the rest is simple enough to do.
