I am building a site for an ambulance service. This agency uses a site called iamresponding.com to view calls from the 911 center here in NY. This site requires a username and password to view this information. Is there a way for a user that logs into my drupal site that when they log in they can view this information without going to the i am responding site. Maybe a mini browser in the content section and the browser will automatically log into it?
I have been looking for a way to post content to the front page via email. I have found mailhandler but it doesnt seem to be compatible with my drupal version. Any ideas?
This is just an observation and I am not being critical. I am not a programmer but I am a project manager so I am trying aid in the development of Drupal in ways I can.
I first used Drupal 4.7, I did not deploy any sites, just played with it to get a feel for it. D5 was released shortly afterwards but I am not one to jump to the latest incarnation of any software. I got busy and never really did anything with 5 before 6 came out, so I just skipped 5 altogether. With 6 I started using Drupal on sites. As with any open source, or for that matter third party modules or plugins, there was a lag. But modules came out and seem to be developed fairly quickly.
As of today I am still seeing a good many major modules in DEV or Alpha/Beta state for D7. Perhaps it is just because I am using Drupal more and more these days that I am noticing this lag, but it seems that module development is lagging more than it has in the past. Or perhaps there is no more lag than normal and I am just perceiving it that way since I am using Drupal more these days.
I am searching for a development platform my all upcoming projects. Till now I've using CodeIgniter, but it is very limited. Also a CMS feature is desired for all projects.
What I need:
-Custom development at the speed of bullet- I need a tool to let me build a custom complex application very quickly. Easy file upload, image manipulation, validation. Rapid Development- my no.1 preference.
I have a requirement to include the email function in one of content page. There is a due date field on the content page. Bascially, user should be able to configue an email reminder based on pre-configrable time interval such as 1 week earlier than due date, 1 month earlier than due date etc. What would be the best way to implement this feature?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks much
I would like to suggest that a system is created for linking to README and other necessary install text files on module pages. I suggest this in light of the install from URL options in Drupal 7 whereby we can install modules without having to log in to our servers. It seems a little silly to then have to log in get the README files, especially whenthe those files contain information you might need to know before you install the module.
