Experiences with linkcheckers and drupal

Does anyone has experiences which linkchecker is effective to use with drupal-sites? I tried out "linkchecker" and "linklint" but always had the following problems:

(1) it reports "url not found" if access is denied for a specific page

(2) it can't check pages restricted to registrated users

Block titles

Okay, this might seem to basic but I'm wondering how do I go about turning a Block title into a link to a page

Thanks

Jim

DRUPAL FOR BEGINNERS: We can't direct users to non-Drupal webpages? And other questions and thoughts ...

Quote from handbook:

**NOTE: In my quest to understand Drupal, to find answers from the seasoned for newbies like me, and to aid other Drewbies (Drupal newbies) in Googling answers to queries, I will include DRUPAL FOR BEGINNERS in my post titles. Eventually, it'll be a list of results in Google if beginners type in 'Drupal for beginners' as keywords (I hope). **

Lemme kick this off with this confusing/disturbing quote from the Drupal Handbook:

"If you enter a value in here that is not a valid Drupal path, the user will be confronted with a "Page not found" error. You cannot redirect users to any web documents (e.g. a static HTML page) not created by your Drupal site."

OK, I'm still relatively new to drupal, and although I've learned a lot thus far, needless to say, I still need some clarification on some crucial points.

I'm trying to build a website that is as close to a dynamic portal as possible (think of Black Planet/Mi Gente/Asian Avenue, but with the ability to upload audio/video, plus a marketplace, connections to my eBay Store, etc.) I want chat rooms using a third-party platform (ChatBlazer, for example) and a forums section as identical to what's offered at PHPbb as possible.

I'm taking the babiest of step to start with -- what I want to do first is build a simple, maneuverable site with a nav bar at the top, with a stationary header while the page underneath it scrolls (like this: http://www.hrts.org/ ). If I can get that to start with -- of anyone can forward me to a step-by-step site to do this -- I'll be ecstatic for now.

Drupal is freaking badass

No criticism here. I just wanted to say that Drupal rocks and I am extremely pleased with it :).

Config.txt what's it?

I tried to search on the site but didn't found.
What is file config.txt at the top of Drupal installation?
It looks like crypted password. Admin password?
Can I remove it?

Thank you!

Are you a UK company that uses Drupal?
