In the spirit of promoting human perseverence, comraderie, the possible opportunity of making some $$$, creating a little slice of history (and, most importantly, imparting more and more knowledge to us lesser technophiles as to how the ins-and-outs of this thing called drupal works!), I crashed into an idea:
Would anyone be willing to work on an web community/e-commerce/artist website with me?
I know a lot of you seasoned development vets must be groaning, 'oh, give me a BREAK!' to this, but the way I see it is like this: myself, I need a dynamic website for e-commerce, community building (including YOUR community) and artist development and promotion. A lot of this coding stuff, and indeed a lot of the concepts, are like MJ to the rim with me in the post -- a.k.a. so far above me right now, I can't see it without a radar, i.e. intensive 'tutorialization' and practice. Thing is, I'm really not a 'pure' coder or programmer, and, newbies, make no mistake -- this IS a big boys' terrain for PHP/ASP/SQL/HTML integration (which I'm not!). I'm a marketer -- with a lot of corporate connections that would benefit from a tech-orientated communities' expertise. Maybe it's time we can combine the technical dynamicism of Drupal with the social networking of good ol' consumer marketing!
So, I'm going for (not quite) broke: is there anyone out there REALLY good at working with Drupal, to build this web community with me? It combines the fluid environment of chat, forums, blogs, etc., with a marketplace, eBay Stores, the 'hood (urban/ethnic culture now rules the scene, and I've compiled my contacts in this regard) and even the stock market?
