Delete entire page of comments from approval queue?

Hi, we've got a web site getting slammed with comment spam. Is there a way to allow comment administrators to either delete an entire page of comments with one "select all" like a webmail interface, or have the head admin delete all queued comments?

thanks

Pris

PhoneBlogz BETA - please help us test!

We've just launched the Beta version of PhoneBlogz. The system allows you to dial a US, UK or VoIP phone number (via Free World Dialup) and leave an audio message which will automatically be posted to your Drupal site via the Drupal blogapi module as an MP3 file.

We have 25 BETA accounts up for grabs now. Registration and setup is easy and free so please give it a go and let us know what you think.

To Drupal or not?

I administer a club website (http://www.edinburghrc.co.uk) where the content is maintained by a number of non-technical users. It is based around Struts and custom Java code that I have written to provide simple content management features. The framework has grown on a slightly ad-hoc basis, and I would like to move the site across to a more flexible, robust and better supported CMS system, like Drupal. I have started to evaluate a local Drupal installation to get some idea of the features and how it works, but I would appreciate some advice from more experienced Drupal users, to try and determine whether Drupal is the right way to go for this particular application.

Here are some of the issues I am interested in:

* Ease of use
The current version of the website allows approved users to log in and edit fixed blocks of website content, or lists of items (like news) via a simple web form. The features that can be edited are immediately presented as a list of simple links on the user’s home page when they log in. This approach allows users to easily edit tightly controlled sections of the site, while retaining control over the general look and feel, navigation and page layout. I can also assign editing rights for one particular page to the individual responsible for that club activity
I can see that Drupal has a lot of powerful and configurable features for content management and user interaction, but my initial impressions are that navigating and using the available administration features could be confusing for a non-technical user who only wants to edit a very specific part of the site, and is not interested in more complex features. Ideally I would like to turn down all the user options to present most users with a very restricted and self explanatory list of editable content features. Does anyone have experience of using Drupal with relatively “unsophisticated” users in the manner described above? How granular is the editing control that can be assigned to individual users?

Why I Love Drupal

I just had to comment on how much I like Drupal. I've been working with it for a few months now. I've made a lot of personal modules for Drupal, contributed 2 new modules to Drupal, and have helped in patching 4.7. I've worked with a few CMS's...and I have to say, the one thing that keeps me coming back to Drupal (besides the way it works, how slick it is, etc.)....is Documentation.

Predictions for 2006

It is that time of the year again! After predictions for 2004 and 2005, we continue this tradition about what Drupal will do in 2006.

Looking back to the predictions for 2005, it seems that some predictions were far from right, if serious at all. Some posters, however, turned out to be true fortune tellers...
