I'm working on a site with multiple developers in multiple locations with varying levels of tech proficiency. I'll be managing development and doing a good deal of coding, etc, while other users will be taking care of tasks ranging from module instalation and configuration to content authoring and administration. I'd like to allow all these tasks be be done offline and have the changes synchronized with a central server. If only there were a subversion for databases (or, if there is, if only I could find it!).
Why is it that Category module was developed outside the constraints of the core drupal taxonomy structure? Nearly every time I try to get Category going with Forum, it anihilates my forums and renders them useless! Why can't Category just work?
I took the time to install a drupal 5 site yesterday to take a look around. Great job guys! Love the new administration page. I only wish my favorite modules were ready to go, but its still early. Here's a list of things I love about drupal 5.
1. Separation of admin tasks
2. Dependency listings in module page
3. CCK
4. fancier AJAX
5. having each module in its own folder.
Is there a way to create a page in Drupal and change the security so that only specific users or a group can see that page? I have looked all around and either it does not exist or I am just not useing the correct key words to search with.
I just wanted to share an idea that I'm sure others have come up with, but maybe this will spark something with a developer out there. I am a newbie developer to Drupal at best, so maybe someone else could make this happen much quicker than I. Basically, the idea would be to drive the Rico Ajax Livegrid control with data returned by the views module. This would allow for fairly granular control of the data via Views without having to actually manually code any database querys.
