This forum is for less technical discussions about the Drupal project, not for support questions.

Navigating this forum

Hi,
I'm still finding my way around here.
A couple of questions

Is there a way to search the forums so I don't ask questions that have already been asked?

Is there a way to browse more specifically? For example, is there something like an 'UI' forum for posts about, say, editors?

Module search not configured properly on drupal.org website

On drupal.org, try doing a keyword search for a module (http://drupal.org/project/modules), say "cache", then sorting the results by most installed. It won't work. Instead it reverts back to sorting by relevancy, which is the first item in the dropdown. No matter what any sort of keyword search results reverts to relevancy.

If others can confirm this, someone should try to fix this as soon as possible. Important functionality is lost, and it makes Drupal look bad.

Drupal should be First of All Developer Friendly

1. Original Idea, Intro

Reflecting to http://drupal.org/node/1261744 that is about Entity System, and
http://drupal.org/community-initiatives/drupal-core/usability that is about Drupal 8 User Experience.

I got the idea of the entity system. Wow. Great idea. After that I decided to start using it, to have a look at it as it sounded so good. After my first experience of Drupal 7 I decided to open this forum here.

My forum topic is about:

  1. starts from my first impressions of entity system and it turns out
  2. to suggest some changes that I do to keep drupal going on it's very original path
  3. It also going to show an idea making it behave so.

Have you ever wondered why:

  • it's complicated adding fields to Users in drupal 6, or
  • why hook_form_alter doesn't work the same way with og_groups module as it does normally, or
  • why conditional fields module doesn't work certain situations, or
  • why it takes 3 months to learn using Drupal while it takes 3 days to use Wordpress

If you've ever had similar problems or questions than this forum is for you.

Looking for services to harden a server running Plesk

I'm a Drupal developer looking to harden a server using Plesk. I'm looking for something similar to what ConfigServer provide:

http://www.configserver.com/cp/cpanel.html

But unfortunately that's just for cPanel/WHM. Does anyone know of a similar service, but for Plesk?

Profile name published

I am surprised to see my personal name in the user profile in this forum are published. So not only my profile name.
I thought only the profile name which was open to the public.
Is there a mistake or is personprofilet published?

Drupal development, infant style

This image immediately made me think of trying to work with some of Drupal's more fiddly APIs.
