Move front page to News tab

I think I may be searching for the wrong terms because I can't seem to find this anywhere. But what I want to do is keep the frontpage, I like the feed, links, etc, just move it to a "News" tab so i can have a static front page. I can't find the URL for the default frontpage anywhere. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,
Chris

D7 core upgrade shows "Notice: Use of undefined constant user - assumed 'user' in eval()"

I see this message when upgrading from D6 to D7. The update script ran just fine, the site functions, but there are three instances of the following error message on every page:

Notice: Use of undefined constant user - assumed 'user' in eval() (line 2 of /Users/sean/dev/icateens_dev/modules/php/php.module(74) : eval()'d code).

Any ideas? Searches didn't turn up much.

What is the best Migrating Method between D6 to D7

I've redesigned one of my older sites into Drupal 7. Now I'd like to migrate both users and content from my D6 to D7 site.

Building a research-paper database, How?

There are an affiliation of schools whose students write final report projects on certain health topics. I'd like to build a database for these documents that track the school (as well as independent non-affiliated people/schools), the researcher, topics/subjects/specificiticies. Is there a theme or profile or something geared to something like this ?

Am I in over my head? (Time for learning Drupal)

Hello everyone,

I realize you must get a thousand of these topics, and for that I apologize. In short, I read the "Is Drupal right for you?" documentation, and I really liked the emphasis on flexibility. It has that "You can do anything you can imagine" feel to it, which appeals to me. However, I'm worried that I'm biting off more than I can chew.
