Hello, I am converting all the SQL queries to drupal functions by including the database abstraction layer.
Can I find anything like if I give the SQL query I should get the query in drupal format. Can anyone please help me.

I need to extend the creation of user accounts in a bit more complex way:

Man...I knew this was going to be bad.. I installed Drupal using Fantastico and immediately find necessary updates (3) without instructions...WHY...WHY...WHY? Just let the install go through for Pete's sake. If not, give CLEAR instructions. I downloaded updates and viewed UPGRADES.txt. JUNK...JUNK...JUNK! I am new to this product. You need newbie guideposts. It the same...same...SAME...problems all the time. You guys forget...some Drupal people are new...meaning CLUELESS....are you TRYING to drive out fresh blood? OK you think I am unworthy...I have 25 years of IT experience. I am a SCJP.

I'm trying to install D7 HEAD - checked out via CVS - on a XAMPP local dev environment on OS X.

I was getting a huge error message when I selected "install in English", so I've reinstalled XAMPP. The error message is now a lot shorter, but I'm still getting stuck:
