I am looking for a Drupal developer based in Mumbai who can develop a Social Networking Site for me. I would prefer someone with experience in building large social community sites (using Drupal of course), coordinating with design team and someone who can overall look at managing the entire project give the high level specifications. I would even look for a team, required.
My gut feel is it should be about 2 months of work (after I give detailed specs), with maintenance and enhancements coming in later on an ongoing basis.
The other day i tried out a fresh copy of d7 to see what all this usability enhancement hullabaloo was about. I have to say im rather impressed. I love the changes so far and especially the changes to the node/edit form. Even its its early stage of development it is looking quite good, keep up the good work everyone. But to my main question:
which Drupal file to edit to put my flash in index page?
In short, if somebody type www.mysite.com then my flash should play in fullscreen( swf file is ready ) .So do I need to edit the drupal index.php? what changes do I need ?
Why I need drupal as backend? well in flash I have a email input form.I need these email and name to be stored in drupal for newsletter.
Please advise.I am using drupal6, if it works in drupal7 then I will switch to it.
Thanks.
I'm new to Drupal, I have been looking through all the forums, and I have not quite found an exact answer if this is possible? Could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks, Nick

I'm only just getting a little deeper into Drupal. I have been battling with performance, the WSOD and Drupals' footprint (with installed modules).
I currently have a lot of modules (over twenty) loaded including Ubercart. I have lots of modules because they fit my initial needs and I don't have time to custom build my own, at least not all at once.
I have just recently disposed of views and CCK, not that they are bad modules per-se, it's just that I want to keep my Drupal project from becoming bloated and slowing like a dog.
