Authentication and cross domain issue

Hi all,

I'm building a authentication module for a custom authentication backend.

The authentication is done using a reverse-proxy and a cookie set by the 3rd party server.

When the user is logging (clicks the "Login" -link) in he/she is redirected to url http://www.3rdpartyserver.invalid/customer and that url acts as a reverse proxy for http://www.mysite.invalid/

Drupal 7.0 Alpha 5 released

Our fourth Drupal 7 alpha version was released just over a month ago. Today, we're proud to announce the release of the fifth alpha version of Drupal 7.x for your further testing and feedback. The first alpha announcement provided a comprehensive list of improvements made since Drupal 6.x, so in this announcement we'll concentrate on how you can help ensure that Drupal 7 is released as soon as possible and is as rock solid as the previous Drupal releases that you've grown to love!

This release includes many critical bug fixes, especially around the upgrade path, security issues, JavaScript, performance, and other areas.

When will alpha become beta?

We have identified several "beta blocking" issues, and itemized these at the Drupal core community initiatives page. On or about June 21, 2010 we will create a new official Drupal 7 release. If this list is fixed, it will be a beta release. Otherwise, it will be another alpha release. It's expected we will have a few beta versions and at least one release candidate before Drupal 7.0 is finalized. We can potentially reach beta next month by focusing on this short-list of issues! Please help!

Why is image style generation only available when authenticated

The image resize module in drupal 7 requires a logged in user to generate an image. Why is that? Consider this:

User x logs in, creates an article with a couple of images. This content type is configured to show the "large" and respectively "thumbnail" image sizes on the main page of user x's site.

This user has a pretty crowded site, so after hitting publish, his site are hit by a couple of anonymous users which will get "generate"-links since these thumbnails doesn't exist, but these will return a 403 since they aren't allowed to create images.

How to prevent the home page appears split in blocks?

Hi,

i just installed drupal and i cant figure out how to prevent the homepage content from being split into 2 parts within the content block. All the other pages occupy the full block but only the full page doesnt. How can i change this?
