Drupal 7.x

Hi All,

I am new to Drupal and have just installed it on my servers using Fantastico. Problem is, every time I try to install a module, I get some or other error message, usually something along the lines of:

Error message
Unable to create directory 'temporary://update-extraction/ubercart/'
(when uploaded from my computer)

* The specified file temporary://fileg3p8IP could not be copied, because the destination directory is not properly configured. This may be caused by a problem with file or directory permissions. More information is available in the system log.
* http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/admin_menu-7.x-3.0-rc1.tar.gz could not be saved to temporary://update-cache/admin_menu-7.x-3.0-rc1.tar.gz.
* Unable to retrieve Drupal project from http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/admin_menu-7.x-3.0-rc1.tar.gz.
(when using install from a url)

I have tried to install several modules both by downloading the necessary tar/gz/zip etc type files and by using the install from a URL, nothing works. One of the main modules I am trying to install is Ubercart, but I have tried it with several other modules just to see if anything will work, but everything I try ends up with an error message!

Is there some sort of configuration I have to do to the site before being able to install modules? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated :D!

Hi everybody. Does anyone have experience in installing Drupal's front end and backend in different servers? I need to have the backend working in the LAN and make the frontend work in a dedicated server in a hosting service.

In addition to that, it would be ideal that the front end worked with full HTML files.

I'm studying Drupal on my own and I'd like to learn how to move sites from my localhost to some WWW-hosting system. How can I do this? Namely, do I have to ask my WWW-hosting company to install Drupal on their servers or does Drupal create only files and database to my localhost which I move manually using sftp? And is there any problems if I use MacBook and WWW-hosting company uses for example Linux?

Hey All,
I'm currently working on building a Ubercart based website in Drupal 7 and am looking at options for theming. While I could start from scratch, I'm also interested in seeing if any frameworks are available that cover some of the basic ins and outs and may give me a head start. Thus far all I've found is Acquia's "Prosper" theme, but it's not been officially ported and I'm unsure about using the semi-hacked community port.

Any thoughts or direction on this would be awesome!

I am new to drupal and have started using the Danland theme, but I want to adjust the CSS (ie add shaded backgrounds and borders to blocks).

I can't seem to find where it is best for me to add these without altering the theme's original css. Where should I be looking to do this in D7?
