Is the db connection cached? If so, how do I clear it?

I am starting to use Drupal 7 (7.7)

I created a content, added a Long Text Field (which I am guessing replaces Text Area from D6), and added text and tried to save the node.

I was able to save perhaps 200 words. When I add more content, the system seems to time out. In some browsers it falls to a white screen, in Safari it simply sits, nothing happens for several minutes.

There is no error message in the log.

I tried different browsers - Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari - none work as expected.

after a certain number of tests, I found that if mails are sent only to the varible $ to: just put
name@dominio.net
whereas if I use "Your Name " no longer works tells me: "Unable to send e-mail. Contact the site administrator if the problem Persists."

That to me is a mystery, but where I can change the way that Drupal sends mails?
I think it's from mail.inc but I do not understand which lines to change

I search a way to have 30x30 pixels images for forums posts / user's avatars.

How can I do that ?
Create a new image type ?

I'm using advanced forums, but I think it's the same for the in core forum module.

I want a module that can filter the words I've listed with a custom php code, BEFORE saving the node's content to the database. Basically, I want to filter swear words with a php generated replacement. Is there a module that can do this or can someone write it (thanks!). Any help appreciated.

Hi, after installing toked and page title module. my URL wont generate thumbnail and description preview on facebook wall post.
Uninstalling & deleting the modules wont help.
this happened on both my Drupal 6 and 7 websites.
Any ideas?
