Private Download Module

I am using the latest version of the private download module (6.x-1.4). It seems to work fine for all files except those ending in exe.

When I change the file extension to html or I delete the file extension altogether, then the private download folder works as advertised. That is, I allow authenticated users to download the file and the download is available when I click on it as an ordinary authenticated user. When I click on the link to the file without being logged in, I get an Access Denied page which is what I expect.

Easy Integration on SOLR-Nutch-Drupal

Hello,

Can anybody point me to a step-by-step guide on combining SOLR-NUTCH-DRUPAL together?

What I am trying to achieve is crawl some data from various websites and create a comparison platform for them. Any help will be much appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance.

Adding a Cancel Button to comment-form.tpl.php

I want to add a cancel button to my comments template. I thought I could just plop the html right into user-comment-form.tpl.php - right after the submit button is rendered - and be done with it. This worked to some extent but not quite. In my site, only anonymous users are allowed to post comments, so the submit button is hidden when $user->uid is not detected. This seems to be controlled by a line in user-comment-form.tpl.php that reads:

Galleria not working on IE

I'm using the Galleria library on a Drupal site. In this case I'm not using the Galleria module, as the client needed a custom module to use it to embed a gallery inside the body field. It's working fine in Chrome and Firefox but not on IE (I've tested on 7, 8 and 9). I don't get any JavaScript error so I'm not sure why is not working. Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Learning Drupal

Greetings everyone!

First and foremost, I love drupal and its community.

Here's a brief description of who I am, where I am going, and what I am looking for from you folks.

- A few years ago I came up with an idea for a business.
- No experience with web development. I started with dreamweaver, got into php, watched videos from lynda.com, and then discovered the all mighty Drupal.
- Eventually got "stuck" with a few modules and customization. I tried educating myself and then decided it took too much time and I knew enough to describe what I wanted and hired some guys from India and the Phillipines. Huge language barrier. So I went to US developers, most of them were out of my budget and those that are cheap were a scam. I lost over $4000 so far...
- I recently decided to take this into my own hands, no matter how much time it takes, to learn drupal and php so that I can do this on my own.

Here are my specific issues with development.
