Installing Drupal

I decided to start all over on a drupal 7 site, so I deleted my drupal folder and the database, recreated the database, re-extracted the drupal program, set up settings.php. When I go into the setup script, it has me put in the name of the database, user name, password, and although I'm using Mysql, it requires the name of a database file that appears to be something for sqlite. Whatever I do there, leave it alone or delete the pre-existing name, the installation continues until it gets to the install profile.

Its late at night and I am overwhelmed. I have made websites multiple times using html but it has been a few years and i usually get by just by checking out other code and if all else fails i'll hop on dreamweaver (always feels like cheating). My friend has a business and wants me to completely redo his website which is hideous and i said i would. He is now changing it up on me half way through my design and says he wants to use drupal... which is great. If i could figure out how to install the damn thing.

Soo he has an FTP on Bluehosts and a the domain is held by go daddy. Also, he wants to have all the changes done off the internet, he wants the current website the same and intact until the drupal site is ready to post on the domain and completed.

So i have two problems, and i may be way off the map.

1. I'm am extremely confused on how to install Drupal but from what im reading, what i understand is to use drupal i have to upload it to the FTP and put it on the website and go from there... Well that a problem, he wants the website intact till the drupal site is finished and ready to go up..

Due to other commitments, I must have IIS running on my computer under Windows 7.

I am not sure if I should install Drupal under WIMP or WAMP.

I have heard there are some compatibility issues to try to having IIS and Apache running simultaneously on the same computer. Can anyone shed more light on the problem or advise me as to the best environment for doing development in Drupal (this will be a demo machine but not the production environment).

I am no stranger to installing php sites, but this one is kicking me.
This is my third domain using godaddy deluxe shared hosting.

Carefully followed the instructions... repeatedly...
Burned through a few fresh databases, and even replaced all the files on the server.
Did all the tricks in the default folder.

But, after giving the database details, I get this error.
It seems to be unique, since google found not one hit.

SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry 'ArchiverTar-class' for key 1

How can I uncollapse the MySQL advanced options?
I'm using Drupal 6.20.

I just finished installing drupal 7 on my site but there's 1 problem,

the clean urls are automatically activated on my links but when i clicked on the links, it goes to a 500 Internal Server Error page.

the links should be like this /?q= so that i can login to my admin and activate clean url but the problem is i cant login becuase of the error page.
