So I'm trying to install Drupal on my University's server. I'm part of a club and we are using Drupal to run our website which is hosted on the university server. When we tried to install Drupal it only saw SQLite as a database type option. The site I created is for a newspaper and is quite hefty, I developed this website on my own server and now I'm trying to get a clean Drupal install on the University server then install the appropriate modules, themes, and so forth.
The site I originally developed on my server was using MySQL, not SQLite. I know this shouldn't be too much of an issue (I think?) but when I installed Drupal on the the University server with SQLite (being the only option), the site runs INCREDIBLY slow. So slow that it would be a useless website, as no one would be patient enough to browse through the content.
Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to Drupal and have recently created a site. I have set the site up through Bluehost and was hoping someone could give me a hand who is familiar with Bluehost and their installs. I'd like to install Drupal Commerce Kickstart to help me get started with my site but I am only familiar with how to install modules at this stage. Basically, i'd like help uploading a .tar.gz file instead of a .tar file. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey, Noob here -- I want to mess around to see if Drupal is the tool for me.
ISSUE:
Logged in as Admin I click Modules » Install New Module » Error: Warning: fileowner() [function.fileowner]: stat failed for temporary://updE280.tmp in update_manager_local_transfers_allowed() (line 906 of D:\hshome\sweetlemons\oiko.us\modules\update\update.manager.inc).
Any help would be great. I've already reinstalled twice, and if I can't fix this I'll just move to the next CMS - But I really like Drupal in comparison to the other options out there.
If the password starts with a '*&#$^' type character, I get the error in the subject of this message. When I changed it to a simple alphanumeric password, it worked. I'm just wondering how the above command should be changed to accommodate '*&#$^' characters.
