Installing Drupal

Hello,

Just starting to get back into Drupal from a long absence and having some start-up problems.

I've followed many guides, but can't get Drupal to install on this setup:

• Virtualbox host
• Ubuntu 14.10 server
• Drupal 7.34

I create the database, move the Drupal files into my Apache directory, but when I run the install script I am getting the white screen and the system is not installing properly.

To provide a linux server,
what packages I need to install in mandriva to
host a Drupal Site?
The server that i have access runs Mandriva 2008
There's a problem or have packages that i can use it.

I designed already a lot of Drupal sites. However now I encounter a problem with one of them which I can't solve.
I can't run cron on this website: http://www.cafetariaviaductdeurne.nl/
At the bottom of the page is also visible "no socket".
Anyone an idea?

Hi,

I instaled the Drupal on XAMP (windows 7 home premium). Create database, copy 'default_settings' etc.
next when i want o login to my site error jump:

' Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.'

Where is a problem?

I'm using a Windows XP platform. I'm trying to install the Acquia Dev Desktop 2 and the installation was successful. But the problem is when I'm trying to open it there was an error and this is the error that I get:

Something is Wrong
%1 is not a valid Win32 Application

This is FreeBSD 10.9; Drupal 7.34 fresh install. I have been reading for solution from this board and other places for 2 weeks but non of the solutions offered has not work for me.

I have installed php5-gd from ports collection but it installed too many collections and died at the end. I don't know what works and if any one has a working solution with share, I am here to take.

This is the only problem left to clear the installation.
