Installing Drupal

I am using the latest version of Drupa (4.6.2) and img_assist (4.6.0). As soon as I copy the img_assist folder to the modules folder on the server the modules page will not come up anymore in the admin area. No error message at all, the connection (to the moduels page) is just dropped on a few seconds. Since I am using shred hosting I don't have access to the Apache logs.

Any clues what could be wrong?

I just installed drupal-4.6.2, and when I try to login with my login and password defined for my database drupal462

I have got this error message : 404 Not found - The requested URL / was not found on this server

When I click on "create first account" I get back directly to the main page "http://localhost/" that you can see below :

I've copied all the files across to the server and thought I had edited sites\default\settings.php correctly.

Can somebody please tell me an easy way to install Drupal?

I'm in the process of installing drupal in my linux server. I searched the site, but couldn't find anything about file permission. what files should I let drupal (well the web server) with write access? only the file folder? any help would be apreciated.

I'm running Fedora Core 4. I downloaded Drupal and followed the instructions.

When I go to the browser on the Fedora box, it asks me to accept a Certicate and then gives me a blank web page.

From any pther machine, it doesn't ask for a certificare, just gives me a blank screen - What have I done wrong?

I can go to my main page (localhost/index.php) and get the drupal page. But when I click on "create the first account", I am taken to the Apache page that loads whenever it can't find what it's looking for. Am I missing a file or a line of code? Please help.
