Due either to a bug in Acquia Dev Desktop, Drupal, or my own ignorance my site will no longer import via Acquia Dev Desktop. I think my backup is OK. I get message "Could not create symlink c:\users\sam\sties\devdesktop\openoutreach ...\sites\openoutreach...dd. File already exists. Please see additional detail at https://forums.acquia.com/acquia-products-and-services/dev-desktop/updat....
A total newbie here. Could you kindly point me to the right direction?
I've got stuck with my Drupal 7 deployment to a remote machine.
My story goes as follows:
I have a Drupal 7 site developed on my local Windows machine. I installed Drupal using WAMP server
as guided by https://www.drupal.org/node/1995312.
The site seems to be working fine and I would like to move it to my Client's server.
As you might guess, I am new to Drupal....however I did get that installed and working on Mac OSx and apache 2.4 Now I want to install the Ctools suite. Downloaded it OK expanded OK but now what? I tried moving the entire directory to /ctools but I am forbidden to execute ctools.install Its not file permissions as I gave the directory to my runtime userid and did chmod 777 on the whole thing. I'm thinking something in .htaccess or index.php is the problem but not sure. Can't find any docs on the "official" way this package should be installed. Ideas are very welcome!!
