Trouble with phptemplate themes

Ive built sites with Drupal in the past and have always loved this cms, but its been a while since ive done so (about a year).

now having to build a couple sites quickly i returned to Drupal thinking i could get a site off the ground quickly with my experience of it (4.5.x)

ive followed the instructions and ive done what ive done in the past to install php template themes but every single one has problems.

Images not showing up in some areas

The good news: I'm able to upload images correctly, and they show up fine when doing the HTML "img src" bit in a node. The bad news: I can't get images to show up in either my user profiles nor in the banners module. The system recognizes that the images are there, and the paths are correct, but it simply won't show them.

help with OBSCURE problem! restoring drupal sites from mysql data FILES on OS X

Hi everyone...

My hard drive died. I was running a number of instances of Drupal on it. I was able to get it alive for long enough that I could pull out the data files from

/usr/local/mysql/data

These would seem to be the files in which mysql stores its data (FORGET booting the hard drive and using phpmyadmin to output the files... that's NOT going to happen... it's dead).

Can't get anything to happen...

Following all the instructions, i can't get drupal working.

problems: downloading index.php & mysql socket config

I've just installed drupal 4.6.3 on Linux/Apache/MySQL, and am stuck on two problems:

1) Sometimes index.php attempts to download. I have found a similar posting here on the forum, but none of the suggestions worked for me. index.php starts to download instead of opening...

2) How can I configure Drupal to use a different MySQL socket (not the default location) ?
