"Not Authorized" To Login As First User After Install, Plus Dsplay Weirdness

I cannot login after installing 4.6.5 on my host. I'm also seeing what I assume are raw Drupal formatting tags.

I followed the instructions in the install.txt included in the archive. After the database has been configured, and settings.php edited, you are instructed to load your site in a browser and "Create an account and login." as the first user.

That page -- and all others-- displays as text, with the following appearing at the top of the page:

Banner module causing FATAL ERROR and website completely inoperable

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: banner_display() in /home2/malayneu/public_html/includes/common.inc(1813) : eval()'d code on line 1

Serious fatal eror caused by unknown cause when I tried isntaling the banner.module.

This is a really major disastrous since I dont know what to do and it looks like my website would not return despite having all the banner installation (database, xtemplate.engine and xtemplate.xtmpl patch done).

Hope that this serves as a WARNING to anyone who wants to install banner.module

Need help on installing drupal 4.6.5

Hi all,

After the whole day trying to install drupal, I haven't succeded. I also searched for help from this forum, but there is not help.

After creating, initializing database, and setting database and host info, right at the first time accessing my site, I encountered these warnings:

Warning: ini_set(): A session is active. You cannot change the session module's ini settings at this time. in /home/vhosts/vietcircle.net/www/sites/default/settings.php on line 109

warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/vhosts/vietcircle.net/www/sites/default/settings.php:109) in /home/vhosts/vietcircle.net/www/includes/common.inc on line 99.

Because they were just warnings, so I just ignored and keeped going to create the first user. After the first user was created, I tried to login, and I got this

Warning: ini_set(): A session is active. You cannot change the session module's ini settings at this time. in /home/vhosts/vietcircle.net/www/sites/default/settings.php on line 109

warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/vhosts/vietcircle.net/www/sites/default/settings.php:109) in /home/vhosts/vietcircle.net/www/includes/common.inc on line 99.

Is anyone here hosting on godaddy.com? I can't import mysql!

I am doing a Civicspace/Drupal install for one of my clients who has chosen to host with Godaddy.com. Now, first of all, I am quite aware of the "LOCK TABLES" privelages issue which I've been told I can address with the information found here.

Hiding new Drupal site while under development?

I just registered a new domain name and am building my first Drupal site. I don't want anyone to casually or accidentally drop in and see it in the middle of development.

My solution was to create a basic index.html page which just says "Coming soon". I then edited the .htaccess file in the root of the website and changed this line:

DirectoryIndex index.php

to

DirectoryIndex index.html

"file promotion failed: out of space"

I'm using Ubuntu 5.1, Drupal 4.6 and Xampp with PHP5. I installed Acidfree and Filemanager and everything seemed to work fine, but now everytime I try and upload a picture, I receive the error "file promotion failed: out of space". This is propagated three times above the posted picture. It looks as if the picture is uploaded, but then later it is gone. I'm a newbie so I'm not even sure where to start. I've got plenty of storage (ran #df and I am using 1% of diskspace on a 200Gb drive).
