If I recall, Midwest Open Source Alliance (MOSA), is the new fiscal sponsor for TCDC (it used to be the Drupal Association). MOSA's website (https://midwestopensourcealliance.org) does not seem to work, but according to https://github.com/mosa-chicago/mosa, MOSA is "a federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization." If that is the case, we might benefit from mentioning that on the tcdrupal.org. For instance, if I donate to a 501c3, my employer will match that donation, and other people might be in a similar situation. If I have my facts correct, I'd be happy to add some language to the "about" page (https://2019.tcdrupal.org/about), such as this:

The fiscal sponsor for Twin Cities DrupalCamp is The Midwest Open Source Alliance (MOSA), which promotes the education, support and development of Drupal and related open source software within the Midwest Drupal community. MOSA is a federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that acts as fiscal sponsor for numerous open source software events in the Midwest.

I will confer with my MOSA board members on this one, I know we are sourcing a lawyer to discuss various legal issues. Not sure that donations in the form of camp registration are tax-deductible .

As far as mentioning MOSA on our site, I'm fine with that, regardless of the outcome of the above.

FWIW, the MOSA site loads for me and some others, but they are looking into why it might not load for everyone.

I agree that camp registration would not likely be tax-deductible. However, if MOSA is a 501(c)(3) charity incorporated in the United States, then donations made to MOSA would likely be deductibe on someone's USA taxes to the extent permitted by law. TCDC doesn't have to make the determination for a potential donor. Do you know if MOSA is able to receive earmarked donations on behalf of TCDC?

This would mostly be applicable to "Individual" sponsors as we have things setup currently: https://2019.tcdrupal.org/sponsors/information. However, now I'm wondering if we could add a "Donate" button, similar to the one on the Backdrop CMS site (https://backdropcms.org/contribute) except the text would say something like:

Donate to Midwest Open Source Alliance (MOSA)
Purpose: Twin Cities Drupal Camp Donation via MOSA

If we did that, we could allow people to contribute to TCDC in any amount. I'm not sure if there would be much of a demand for this, but I'd be happy to help get this setup if others think this might be beneficial.
