were integrating civiCRM into our site as it has a bunch of features we will be using including a feature rich Event module. I would suggest it massive overkill for those wishing only to use it for events however.

Danny_Joris: I'd suggest the Calendar module. I had a bad upgrade experience from Event 5→6, and I've been happily using CCK/Date/Calendar ever since.

is there a feedback on how to solve all issues related to the migration Event => CCK-calendar-views so that the D6->D7 becomes possible ?

On migrating:
1st of all: I've been very happy using Event for the last few years. As I'm in a hurry to upgrade to D7, I'm looking now for an alternative.
has anyone got positive experiences with migrating from Event to Date + Calendar, possibly using Node Convert?
@Mark Nielsen: did you manage to import your old events into your new calendar?
@ leemako: did you manage to import your old events into CiviCRM? for archival purposes, I'd like to keep those old nodes.

So, I'm guessing there's really not going to be a Drupal 7 version of this module due out anytime soon. Makes me not really want to take the task of upgrading the Event Repeat module, as this seems to be a dead end.

I chatted with Killes about this, and I'll be helping him get this module updated to Drupal 7. I have a few other things I need to get done first, so it won't be right away, but there will be some progress on this before too long.

As for plans, it would be best if in drupal 7 events were an entity type of their own and not a bundle of the node entity type as they are in drupal < 7.

Then you could have different types of events as bundles, with each bundle having its own settings & fields etc.

Fieldable events would rock! I think it should definitely be the way to go.

Been almost a year and seems we won't be having a D7 port. :(
I am doing my new sites in D6 just to have access to this module, but would love to upgrade to D7.

I wouldn't say it's finished, just a sandbox for now, but it's a start. It also works for what I wanted/needed. Fieldable Event entities! Eventities!

No problem. I was hesitant at first because I've been sitting on the fence as to whether or not to include a date field/property out of the box, but with http://drupal.org/node/501428 (date field in drupal 8 core) coming to a resolution, I'll leave it up to the flexibility of the field system as to which date format one wants to implement.

Anyways, I'm more than willing to help further a 7.x version if we're taking the #25 route.

Forgot I had actually posted in this thread so long ago. There has been a lot of fresh movement on Drupal event modules recently so we ditched CiviCrm for events. Ended up creating our own event nodes with 'date' field, using 'full calendar' module to display these (And color module to change the look of different events) then using 'Entity Registration' for sign ups. From the looks of things, the new Event module and others like it will encapsulate a lot of this nicely without so much leg work.

OK, installed it, created an Event Type & an Event. Works great so far. Will provide feedback in the module's Issue cue.

I have Text an Images for every event. Is it possible to import the whole Code (with links, images etc.)?

The old module won't be ported to Drupal 7. If you're using Drupal 8, there will be a new version of event which should do roughly what you want it to do.
