The module core has been tweaked and overridden to create the tables on the sale/trading/wanted ad list pages. Views were used to create the filter pages, and imagecache was used for the thumbnails.

@Seijun: good looking case. A pity it's in 6.x instead of 7.x, but for a first showcase, I suppose it is better, and we can switch to a 7.x showcase when a finished one appears.

You say you had to tweak and override (i.e. alter ?) the "module core": could you say more about it ?

It could be interesting if you did a writeup about how you built the site around this module, we could add it to the module documentation. Is this of interest to you ?

I was not in charge of building the site. From what I have been told, there are no plans to move the site to 7.x at the moment.

I did not do very much to tweak the module myself, it was almost all the work of our resident php expert (I am the css person). Once we get the classifieds finished, he would probably be fine with me posting the modified code here, and I could explain how I integrated that with views, if you feel it's necessary (only my second time using views, so I can't say that my methods are the easiest ones!) . The rest of the site was built long before I installed the Classifieds. I added them only as an afterthought to help our existing community.

Yes, any info on a practical case like this one would be interesting. With Views integration already provided by the module, it would be interesting to hear what you had to do on a real site because it was missing.

Also, regarding theming, it looks like you added some templates to theme some elements of this module, in addition to core templates. Reasoning about this and the choices it implied would be useful to know for future versions.

Hi, I am trying to send a message to the author of the classified, and I would really appreciate any experience about this. Seijun, I am also trying to set-up privatemsg in order to send messages, I have tested your site, if you create a new user and try to send a message to the author, it says : Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page. I am not sure this is the expected outcome...

I'll keep you posted if I find any good solution.

What user did you create, and which user did you try to send a message to? I am not having any problems with out PM system. Could it be that you were not logged in when you tried to send the message, or your new account was not verified yet?

Also, I did not think to say this before now, but our site is live.

Anonymous users cannot click on the author link, so I created the user "toto", loged in with the email, and clicked on a classified's author. Perhaps the account should have been verified first somehow. But since I have the same error, I just wanted to let you know.

For some reason your account is listed as blocked. I changed it back to active. Someone else working on the site must have thought you were a spammer. See if you can access the PMs now (but keep in mind all users are real, it is not a demo site). I have not had any trouble with PMs and no one else has reported problems, so I am hoping it was just a case of your account having been blocked.

Yes Unfortunately we had to roll back the previous website, but in the next month the drupal version will be back up again.

@Sirote: if you're really still on 7.31, you really need to take action regarding core more than Classified :

• https://www.drupal.org/SA-CORE-2014-005 is probably the most critical issue Drupal had since Drupal 5

So you probably meant 7.x-3.1, not 7.31 :-) No problem. The site is still too empty at this point to be a valid showcase (lorem ipsum on the image !), but once it becomes more used, it will be interesting because it uses a non-western alphabet.

Still tweaking, but I'm using Classified Ads, in fact three cloned versions of it. 1. Classified ads 2. Job listings 3. Dealer ads 4. Realtor ads. Along with my site specific mods: Here at github (Thank you, Barraponto!)

@System Lord, I added a note about Classified Tweaks on the project page. It might be interesting to see it evolve, and possibly backport changes if this fork discovers and fixes new bugs.

With this module end of life approaching along with Drupal 7 EOL, this issue is now moot.

Removed previous showcase section from project page, none of the sites mentioned on this issue is currently using Drupal anyway.
