Problem/Motivation
There is not currently an obvious way to recognise the work contribution mentors make to the continuing growth of the Drupal project and community.
Proposed resolution
Add a further option to the contribution attribution field on issue comments called "I was mentored by" that holds an entity reference to the user account of a Drupal Community member. Use data from this to give contribution recognition to the chosen community member in the final commit message automatically.

volkswagenchickAttribution for mentors can be a great incentive.
I think this is brilliant.
Can the mentor attribution field also have an "at organization" tick box for those mentors who are paid through their orgs and customers?

realityloopAsking so far has me with only 26 people listing me as a mentor from the several thousand people I invited to do so during first time contributor workshops.
I think this will be great and should get more uptake than mentors asking people to list them as a mentor.
