At least once a week I suffer a data loss incident on drupal.org due to this bug.

Normally if you go back a page and then forward, all form content is preserved. However if a textfield is using BUEditor, this is not the case.

It is very common for me to accidentally press the back button as on my keyboard it is right beside the cursor keys:

Backbutton

According to #424400-193: Use BUEditor on drupal.org it is also very easy to tab out of a textfield and then then press the backspace key, which triggers the back button functionality.

Here is the issue in the BUEditor module: #1351642: Major UX issue: BUEditor clears the text area.

I've no idea what to do with this, but it sure isn't an OS issue...

...this is a 7.x issue now. No?

Confirmed that this is still an issue. This bothers me a great deal too. Too many times I've lost work.

From that issue queue, "A workaround is to set all the buttons as images."

So I assume this has to happen on d.o.
