I am pretty sure this is the right place to post this.

First, does Drupal 7 store the hostname of the author of a node, and will Drupal 8? I looked in the D7 database and didn't see it. I do see that comments have the hostname stored. If it does not store it for the node, is there any plan to do so in D8? I feel this is a really important piece of information for admins who allow many users to post nodes to their site. It does go a long way to identify users with multiple accounts, and users that are spam accounts. Comments have it stored, Users have it stored, why not nodes? The addition of this will allow for several admin tools in the future. I don't want to add a field to the node, I feel it should be built in. I cannot see any reason for this not to be. If there is a reason for this to not be stored with the node, please let me know.

The proposal doesn't met the Criteria for evaluating proposed changes. In this case, there is not demonstrated demand and support for the change.
