Example Drupal use Chinese, Simplified is "zh-hans" and Chinese, Traditional "zh-hant"
and GOOGLE and some other 3party app use "zh-CN" and "zh-TW"
All the modules that use google require to convert "zh-CN" to "zh-hans" and "zh-TW" to "zh-hant". Is there a hook/patch for drupal language system recognize that "zh-hans" is also = "zh-CN" and "zh-hant" = "zh-TW".

plachThere is nothing like language aliasing in D7.
I guess you'll need to install two custom languages (zh-CN and zh-TW) instead of using the predefined ones (see the "add language" page). You can import string translations from localize.drupal.org in any language you wish, so you should be able to reuse existing translations.

spacereactor CreditAttribution: spacereactor commentedya, i being using custom language to overcome this since drupal 6. If there is hook code, Drupal can keep using zh-hans and zh-hant so the community can remain constant. Module developer has 1 less thing to troubleshoot for those using multilanguages. anyway that my 2cts thought.
