Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a mobile version of a Drupal site. Another request would be that the site would detect the mobile device and activate the mobile version

Any thoughts?

You might want to try http://drupal.org/project/mobile_theme in conjunction with http://drupal.org/project/browscap
