I would like to change the template of the emails that are being sent when people subscribe to articles or comments.
1. Where can I find those templates (in which subdirectory in the Drupal installation)?
2. Are there any GUI tools we can use to update/customize those templates?

Thanks for the quick reply. I am looking for a GUI interface with WYSIWYG tools to be able to change the templates not only for users, also for comment-relies and more.
Also want to make the email more like HTML with graphic buttons and all, if possible.

what modules are you using to generate the emails?

simple_news with mimeemail allows the use of custom email templates, and if you use full html in your posts you can make them look very good, incl buttons etc.
