It was abandoned by the maintainer and then unpublished because it has a security vulnerability and no maintainer to fix it.
There's half a dozen "friend" modules out there. Just use one of the other ones.

do you have any idea when buddylist2 is going to be available for drupal 6? right now i only see friendlist and user relationship, which one do you recommend? thanks again

Between those two I'd recommend user relationship. Friendlist is a duplicate and doesn't have all the functionality last I checked. I've got to admit I'm biased because the friendlist maintainer was a total jerk to me so I haven't even tried the module. Personally, I just need a simple buddylist replacement so I'm looking at flag_friend, which should have a 6.x version soon. If you're in a hurry or need something more complex, then UR.

and thanks for the information. I have just installed and uninstalled friendlist because i felt that it is not what i am looking for. Buddylist2 seems good but the trial version is not completely working yet so i am now using UR.
