AdaptiveTheme has been automatically opened to new maintainer applications, as it has releases for Drupal 8 which will be marked unsupported on 2 Nov, 2021, but no release yet for Drupal 9. Your Drupal 7 releases will not be affected.
This is an adaptation of our existing process for transferring project maintainership.
After the standard 14-day waiting period from this issue being opened, and if an existing maintainer has not closed it, this project becomes eligible for new maintainers. Those new maintainers will not need to wait for existing maintainer approval.
Next steps:
- An existing maintainer may close this issue and opt out of this accelerated process.
- A prospective new maintainer can take this issue after the 14 day window has elapsed and take the following steps to be added as a maintainer:
- Comment here explaining why you would like to maintain the module.
- If the project is opted in to security coverage, confirm that you have previously received security coverage opt-in permission.
- If an existing maintainer has not commented, move the issue to the Drupal.org Project Ownership queue, by editing the “Project” field on this issue.
- The Drupal.org site moderators will review the issue, and if it meets the requirements can grant you maintainer access.

mattbloomfield commentedI'd love to take over as maintainer. I forked this project in order to revive it for D9:
https://www.drupal.org/project/at_theme
I'd be thrilled to be able to merge the projects and take over.
The issue I keep running into is security coverage. I made an issue with my fork here:
https://www.drupal.org/project/projectapplications/issues/3176508
Unfortunately, it's been at the bottom of the queue. I made some fixes, but no one seems to want to review it further to see if I can receive security coverage. If there's anyone who can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

gaurav.kapoor commentedI would also be interested in maintaining this module alongside @mattbloomfield. I haven't really contributed to this particular project but I can help with D9 release, reviews and improvements in the documentation. I happen to have permission to opt into security coverage as well.

Webbeh+1 to @mattbloomfield (#2), as he has been an inspiration to try to resurrect and sustain this project. I highly recommend them.

gislegaurav.kapoor has permission to opt into security coverage, successful application is here: #3157467: [D8] CKEditor Tweetable Text
mattbloomfield has applied for permission (#3176508: [D9] AT Theme), but it looks like the application has been stuck at "Needs work" since February. I believe mattbloomfield has made some fixes, but needs to change status to "Needs review" to get a review of the fixes he has made.
For gaurav.kapoor to be added to the team, the only steps remaining is for him is to confirm he still is interested and move this issue to move the issue to the Drupal.org Project Ownership queue, by editing the “Project” field on this issue (see the steps in the issue summary).
After gaurav.kapoor has been added as maintainer, he can (if he wants to) add mattbloomfield to the team if goes along with idea of merging the projects.

benjarlett commentedI have been moving sites from adaptivetheme to Matt Bloomfield's at_theme I really hope that these two projects can merge back together without much pain.. This is an excellent starter theme and Matt has been great at filling the gap in support that occurred for whatever reason (I hope Jeff's ok). Fingers crossed.

mattbloomfield commentedHi,
I've recently received security coverage, as can be seen here:
https://www.drupal.org/project/projectapplications/issues/3176508
I'd like to take over this project so that I can merge it with my D9 version. Please let me know if I need to take any further steps.

gaurav.kapoor commentedMissed updating this issue, but I can see @mattbloomfield has taken up the maintainer part and is updating issues as well. Let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks.
