ojchris commentedHow do one participate in this? Have you gotten any response and a final decision made already? I will be willing to send in an entry if it is still open (wonder how I missed this information). Thank you
Comment #3
jrockowitz commentedI have gotten one inquiry and we spoke via Drupal Slack. @ojchris37 Feel free to ping me on Drupal Slack.
Once you are comfortable with the general scope of work, you should post a proposal here.

jeffmasigan commentedHi,
I'd like to throw my name in the hat. My name is Jeff Masigan from Pixel Architect. I am attaching some sample logos that we have done for your reference.
If we are selected, we will do this job at the cost of the hourly wage of our designer. As an agency, won't add any mark-up fees to this job. We can also provide printing services for shirts and hats and have them ready for DrupalCon Seattle.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks!

ojchris commentedDear jrockowitz,
I'm an Independent IT Consultant and provide Web Consulting services that includes logo design, UI/UX and some copyrighting. See my logo reference attached. I print in the UK and get it delivered with whatever brand usage you may require.
Regards,
Chris

jrockowitz commentedSo I spoke to @jeffmasigan and @ojchris37 and both proposals were relatively equal. I decided to go with Pixel Architect because they reached out to me first and they also have the time available to get the logo done with tee-shirts by DrupalCon. Pixel Architect and the Webform module's Open Collective are going to split the cost of the tee-shirts. We are going to focus on just the Webform logo with an awareness of possibly creating a logo kit.
Everyone is welcomed to provide feedback. @ojchris37 I value your input during this process. I feel that the logo kit is a much larger project that should be a collaboration.
ojchris commentedVery well. Thanks for having me. Will be great to contribute towards the logo kit project!

jeffmasigan commentedHi,
These are our take on the Webform logos. Looking forward to hearing your feedback.
Thanks!

jrockowitz commentedLike the "shorter" drop with the full contact form.
I would like to tweak the contact form to use the yellow button with red required asterisks after the labels. For the smaller version of the logo, we could remove the labels and asterisks.
I also like the Roboto font mixed case.
Below is my sad attempt at a comp.
Would it be possible to make a final comp with text before sending it to the printers?
Can we talk on Sunday or Monday to discuss next steps and deliverables (ie sizes, file types, examples, etc…)?
jrockowitz commentedI converted the PDF documents to PNG to make it easier for people to review these online.

megachrizGreat initiative!
After looking at all the logo's for a while, I'm mostly drawn to the following one:

I'm not sure about the logo's with the contact form in them. Somehow these look less appealing to me. As humans general try to see faces in things, the contact form logo's look like a neutral face to me (a face with a straight mouth). I like from the druplicon logo that there is a smiling in there.
If I look at the "F" from the logo's with "WF" in them, I get an idea. The upper two bars almost look like they could act as text fields. The lower stick of the "F" could then act as the submit button. Not sure yet what to do with the "W" though.
Fonts:
I personally like the Tajawal (lowercase) the most, because of the angled cutout on the top of the "b". But Roboto is a nice font too.
Should you want to come close to the font that the Drupal word logo uses, the font “Horatio Bold” might be an option. I found that out on the following issue: #955994-4: What is the font being used in the new Drupal Logo?
jrockowitz commentedI completely agree with trying to use a font similar to the Drupal word logo's font. I felt Roboto was a close'ish match and universally available.
I am okay with that.
ojchris commentedLate to the party :)
I would prefer this with the WF wordmark with the shadow effect used on the form inscription. Though I don't understand why the use of yellow on the F. A white W with a light blue F should fit. hope my choice count at this late moment
Comment #16
kpaxman commentedI tend to like the "abstracted form" logo - and I would argue it doesn't need the form labels and "required" indicators, to keep it abstracted and avoid having elements that don't come through at smaller sizes and perhaps also introduce colour contrast issues.
My first thought when looking at the "WF" logo was that it reminded me of the "Waste Management" logo - https://www.wm.com/us - which I believe exists throughout the US and Canada. But then again, just about any two-letter combination starting with "W" in a sans-serif font is going to look like that.
scottsawyerI like the ones with the WF because they remind me of a super hero chest badge like the "S" on Superman. Also, they are a bit more distinct at a glance than the form fields. Especially like the two in #15, with the combined WF mark.

jeffmasigan commentedHi,
These are the 2 finalists for the new Webform Logo. In the next couple of days we will be posting a voting page on our website to get the feedback of the community. Voting will be open all throughout DrupalCon Seattle.
Thanks!
Jeff

lomale@bluewin.ch commentedHi Jake
I'm late, but I like this idea
why not simply combine the two ideas.
My thoughts are. it's for both analog and digital thinking people.
it shows the Form
and quasi the send button show's send by WebForm
see picture
just an idea. I'm still following webform, a great module

jeffmasigan commentedSo the votes are in.
75% for the Form logo
25% for the "WF" logo
Thanks to everyone that voted!
jeffmasigan commented@lomale - great idea to combine the logos, but the "WF" won't look good in the "form" logo if the combined logo was used in smaller spaces.
jrockowitz commentedHi Jeff,
Thanks for posting the final "winner" logo. For everyone following this thread Jeff and/or I will be doing a follow-up blog post about the Webform module's logo.
What other formats do you recommend for the final hand-off?
I would be okay with following Drupal.org's logo kit and having…
webform-large.png
webform-small.png
webform-vector.svg
webform.eps
Comment #26
jrockowitz commentedI just noticed that svg and eps are not supported by the file upload. Can you please create a zip with these formats?
ojchris commentedGlad you guys were able to reach a conclusion. I think familiarity carried the day!
jrockowitz commentedAttached are some experiments with logo variations.

jrockowitz commented@jeffmasigan Here is my first attempt at the Webform module's Logo page.
I have very minimal photoshop skillz but was able to mockup a webform icon and an inline version of the logo. Both my comps need a graphic designers touch. For example, one mistake I am seeing the white form inputs are transparent in the PNG.
My goal is to have a comprehensive set of the webform icon, inline logo, and stacked logo as PNGs with .ai, .eps, and .svg available in a zipped archive.

judapriestNice ! Great job guys !
Don't forget to update the project page with the logo :)
jrockowitz commentedI added the new logo to https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/modules/webform/webform-logo and then applied it to the below URLs. We can gradually apply the logo to more places.
Thank you, everyone, especially @jeffmasigan, for your help.
