Given a D8 candidate release, it would be good to see guidance on migrating D7 Media sites to D8 on the project page. Will there be Media-D8 or will some other solution be needed?

Please see http://drupal-media.github.io/d8-status-update/#/ for the roadmap and status update. Media for D8 will exist, but we're splitting a lot of the functionality into separate components.

The status of D8 ports is actually found all here: https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/contrib_tracker, so I went ahead and added a Media module port issue at https://www.drupal.org/node/2595163
