Hello everyone,
I have taken a great interest in drupal 8, since it is built on components from symfony and the introduction of twig is just awesome!!! But I have been checking on the critical issues in beta and it seems stuck on 40. I can't wait to use in production but stuck in lymbo. Please shade some light on why it is taking so long to have the first stable version?
Tx.

There's no great mystery or secret reason-- it's simple math. The amount of work that needs to get done far exceeds the amount of work getting done / contributors (most of whom are volunteers) working on it.
We worked on Drupal 7 release
We worked on Drupal 7 release for years and it had to be 2011 release the first stable version.
Although Symfony components are mature, integration still needs to be tested. There are many components in core now (Views!), so it's going to take some time.
There are many people who'll be working on remaining issues on DrupalCon next month.
What's new and changing in PHP 8.4
