I'd like to display the total number of published nodes for a content type in the footer of a view (or somewhere else) and display something like:

Total: 157

Any ideas?

This should work: 

  • Create a View 
  • Check "Use aggregation"
  • Set "Aggregation settings" for a field to "Count"
  • Remove everything under "Sort criteria"

PS. FYI, see #3535657: Changing aggregation type in Views does not apply until field is deleted and re-added.
