On this project we worked with LAMDA's design agency to deliver on the key objective of providing the academy with an updated, easier to manage website which would incorporate their new brand identity.

Key features:-

  • Responsive website built in Drupal
  • Integration with their online store
  • Separate password protected content areas for staff, students and donors
  • Interactive events calendar

As part of the project we also provided documentation to meet LAMDA's business continuity planning objectives, as well as trained their in-house webmaster on how to manage the site in Drupal.

Why Drupal was chosen:

LAMDA's previous website was written in a bespoke CMS which was limited in functionality. It was created by a single developer, who had become a bit of a bottleneck when it came to new feature requests. Ownership of code was unclear - and even if it had of been clearer lack of documentation and clarity on how the system was architected would have made it hard to hire in a developer to take this on.

We were able to explain how Drupal, combined with an adherence to published coding standards and a 'contributed-first' approach – all underpinned by solid deployment workflows – would be able to overcome these obstacles.

Describe the project (goals, requirements and outcome):

To provide LAMDA with a new website that could support their academy-wide rebranding, as well as resolve the severe operational issues they had with managing their existing site

Key modules/theme/distribution used:
Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen:

As part of this project we trained up a new themer and gave that person responsibility for building a lot of the site. That person chose the skeleton theme because he liked the simplicity of it, especially in terms of managing mobile breakpoints.

We used menu mini panels to manage drop down menus.

We used the media module and various related modules like Soundcloud and YouTube to manage rich media.

Finally we used secure pages to serve certain pages under HTTPS.
