I would like to have a page with multiple links to pdfs or ppts. Can anyone tell me how to do this or recommend a module for this?

You can use content fields for uploading files and create a view page for displaying links. It's easiest way for do this.

do you mean page that provide multiple upload files?
You can insert new field with 'file' data type. Goto content type>(select type)>manage field.
