Pulling it all together
I direct the Enabling Support Foundation, a non-profit, that provides online support for education and disabilities and general humanity (Eg Food, Art, social contact, diverse creativity, etc). I am working with grassroots NGOs in Africa and have attracted about 60 of them. ESF now hosts about 7 websites in Drupal 7 and now I have to update them all. I remembered something about multiple sites, but when I checked there did not seem to be a version for 7. I thought about Showcase and I saw this as an opportunity to build a showcase of of humanitarian NGOs in Africa on a Drupal Network. At the same time we are teaching the teachers how to guide the students in the 21st Century.
I need help in building that Showcase.
ESF is a 501c(3) that has supported online education since 1995 when it was founded. Its sole income is my IRA. But we are on the verge of a breakthrough. We are guiding educators in emerging countries into the 21st Century.
Here is an example of a current project.
ESF is mediating a loan for an agriculture site in Cameroon by a Kenyan banker. They will use the money to create schools for the 21st Century and can be used as a Cyber Cafe. The cash would be used for maintenance and expansion and loan repayment.
I need pro bono consultants to design the Network and guide the staff on the NGO to update things. I can build a site, but what kind of networking is possible? There could be as many as 60 NGO sites involved.
Pro bono can become paid consultant if the potential is realized. In any case you are doing a good thing.
"Build it and they will come" is a good statement that has a good alternative.
