Hi folks

I believe Drupal is now kitted out to interface with SXIP (www.sxip.com), and I was wondering if any one can point to any site(s) implementing the network?

Many thanks,

Neil.

How do you know if you will need to be a Homesite or a Membersite? What arethe deciding factors?

Examples of somebody who would want to be a Homesite:
* Already has a large user base and would like to inspire loyalty by being their users' Homesite
* Has a specific set of data that they would like assert (provide verifiably) such as a university that wants to give their users a trustable token containing their degree, or number of credits, or even simply that they are an alumni.
* Wants to provide add-on services, such as homepages, FOAF profiles, or anything else that may benefit their users and turn them a profit.

Examples of somebody who would want to be a Membersite:
* Somebody who wants to provide easy registration for users in an environment where user registration is often a barrier (forums, commenting on blogs, CMSs, public issue tracker)
* Somebody who wants to check for a specific assertion from a trusted source before giving a user access to a particular resource
* A company that internally does not want to require entering many passwords to log in to their corporate resources securely.
* Anybody who wants to share accounts between multiple web sites in a clean manner.

Keep in mind, you *can* be running Homesites and Membersites concurrently

I'm requiring a SXIP identity to comment on my new drupal blog (http://an9.org/devdev), although I have to admit it is, so far, mostly about SXIP. It is also using an updated sxip.module that has yet to be merged with the original. But there are many demos floating around it with complete source code. The Bugzilla add-on is quite stable, I wouldn't be surprised if some adoption started on that soon.

As far as other sites, I believe Midentity has already set up a Homesite (https://homesite.midentity.com) and there are many actively developing right now.

Bryght will likely run a homesite, mainly as a benefit to our customers. I was thinking that it might be interesting to run a "Drupal" homesite as well, to be used by any Drupal sites. Both www.bryght.com and support.bryght.com are SXIP-enabled.

As Andy points out, you don't need to run a homesite to benefit from being part of the SXIP network.

Remember, if you have an existing Drupal site, and add SXIP support, you can "SXIP in" to an existing account if you use the same email address.
