Can anyone tell me how to make the Text Color button work in CKEditor? I've looked through lots of posts but can't find a specific answer. Here's the story so far...
(BTW, I am using a basic, unmodified 'Garland' theme)
- I installed CKEditor, set the permissions and it worked fine (except of course that the text color button that I need wasn't there).
- I read the CKEditor readme notes and these told me that in order to get the color button working I'd need to download a filter like WYSIWYG. I therefore downloaded it, installed it and enabled it on the Modules menu.
- When I then tried editing a node, I found that the CKEditor module had been mysteriously disabled (presumably by the installation of WYSIWYG). I therefore re-enabled it and both then appeared to work okay.
- However, I then found that WYSIWYG could not 'see' the CKEditor. In the configuration menu for WYSIWYG it said that it was looking for the module in the sites/all/libraries/ckeditor directory rather than the sites/default/modules/ckeditor/ckeditor directory where I had installed it. I therefore decided to cheat a bit and install it in sites/all/libraries/ckeditor as well. This worked and WYSIWYG can now 'see' CKEditor.
The problem I now have is that I can't work out how to enable the text color button.
The most obvious option appears to be editing the WYSIWYG profile for the any of the input formats and where, under 'Buttons and Plugins' one has the ability to check a long list of available options, one of which is 'Forecolor'. However, even when I check all the buttons this seems to have no effect.
There are also some options in the CKEditor menu but, as a fairly inexperienced user, I don't really know what they do.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
