Fields added to the user account appear on all categories; e.g. if you have multiple categories eg. create via a profile module, the fields appear on each of those.

@webchick - whats stupid is the user category system. Its gone in drupal 8 in favor of fieldgroups and profile entity. i suggest we fix the bug now. if someone wants to write a test, then fine.
