The title says it all, when I try to run the update.php page it goes to update.php?op=info but all it shows is a completely blank page (nothing in the source code too).

I changed the /sites/default/settings.php file with "$update_free_access = TRUE;", and that's it. I'm stuck.

any suggestion?

It's been my experience that if any changes have been made to maintenance-page.tpl.php (located in the /themes subdirectory), a blank update.php page appears. Though I'm certain that a corrupted or modified maintenance-page.tpl.php isn't the *only* reason the update.php page goes blank. I would look there first.
